MGM Springfield is Massachusetts’ first hotel-casino. At 2 million square feet, the hotel draws customers regionally, from all over the state, as well as from places in the Tri-State area. Springfield is steeped in American history; the new resort both respects New England pride, embodying Springfield’s industrial roots, and refreshes the community’s historic character with its modern and dramatic design.
Two Twelve collaborated closely with the Friedmutter Group to identify a cohesive wayfinding and signage system that honors the heart and soul of MGM Springfield, clearly communicates to guests, and supports Massachusetts Gaming Commission requirements. From clearly identified entrances with eye-catching marquee identification, unique site signage that directs drivers to parking, and intuitive interior signage to guide visitors to their destinations, the program deliberately highlights architectural and historical details that inspire every moment along the visit, from its crafted material choices to its vintage signage applications.
